Cloudy Evening at Cannon Beach
This is a continuation of my series of watercolor paintings from Gary Hamburgh's (www.garyhamburgh.com) magnificent photographs of the Pacific Northwest. Thank you Gary for your inspiration.
Haystack Rock is one of Oregon's most recognized landmarks rising 232 feet from the edge of the shoreline. This monolith is located 1.5 miles south of downtown Cannon Beach. At low tide, artists and photographers can be found capturing the beauty of Haystack Rock and at high tide many people have become trapped on the Rock and have to be rescued by the Coast Guard. The smaller adjacent formations are called "The Needles. What an enchanting place to visit.
