Side of Mountain, Pregasina, Italy

This is my interpretation of fog and mist enshrouding part of the side of the mountain in Pregasina, Italy above Lake Garda.  

As soon as I saw this spectacular image by Christina Gottardi, I knew I had to try to capture all the ridges and crevices and sunlight catching the rugged angular edges of the rocks.

Tipsoo Lake

Tipsoo Lake, according to Wikipedia, at an elevation of 5,299 feet above sea level, is an alpine lake within the Northern Cascade Range located near the summit of Chinook Pass in Pierce County, Washington State.  It's a photographer's paradise.

I'm grateful to my good friend Gary Hamburgh (www.garyhamburgh.com) for trekking up that trail to get this photograph of Tipsoo Lake and spectacular view of Mount Rainier.

Anacortes On My Mind

Back in 2001, my husband and I attended a wedding in Seattle and the next day we intended to take the ferry from Anacortes, Washington to Victoria, British Columbia for a medical meeting.  The date was September 11th.  We drove from Seattle to Anacordes and just as we arrived, the border closed.  We spent a week in this quaint, beautiful waterfront city on Fidalgo Island trying to get back home to New York.  We'll never forget the wonderful hospitality of the people who welcomed us so warmly.  They will be in our hearts forever.
