Morning Colors, Anacortes, Washington
#New Pacific Northwest Painting
"Morning Colors, Anacortes, Washington
These warm early morning colors are cotton candy to my eyes as they travel across the Northwest sky.
I have a personal connection to #Anacortes, #Washington. On September 11, 2001, my husband and I were in Seattle for a wedding and were driving up to Anacortes to catch the ferry to Victoria, BC for a meeting when we heard the news about the Twin Towers. We decided to drive up there anyway to see if we could get across to Canada but unfortunately, the borders had already closed. We spent the next week in this charming town trying to get back home to New York. The people were so friendly and kind to us and even offered to take us in until we could make arrangements to get home. I will never forget their warmth and generous hospitality.
Many thanks to my friend Gary Hamburgh (www.garyhamburgh.com) for his beautiful photography of the Pacific Northwest.
