Head of the Harbor is a view just west of Cold Spring Harbor, a charming historic town on the North Shore of Long Island, New York. It is home to the world famous Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, the Fish Hatchery and Aquarium, the Whaling Museum and the DNA Learning Center. This quaint town, dating back to the 1600's has a unique history and year round events to enjoy.

We all love to watch the sun set; that magnificent ball of fire drifting slowly into the sea. I'm no exception, but I also like to watch for the green flash, an optical phenomena that appears a few seconds before or after the sunset. It's an absolute zen moment that really can not be described.
So, the next time you're at the beach, wait for it and you won't be disappointed.
