Moonlit Surf
With the heatwave we've been experiencing this past week here on the East Coast, I thought you might feel some relief with this Seascape of crisp waves crashing against the shore with the cool moon shining above.

Tranquil Surf at Sunset, Cannon Beach
Cannon Beach is a city on the northwest tip of Oregon. In 1846, a cannon from the U.S. Navy washed ashore but it wasn't discovered until 1898 and eventually inspired the name Cannon Beach. Cannon Beach is recognized by its well known landmark Haystack Rock and near the Rock are the Needles, two tall rocks rising straight out of the water. This photo is looking northwest up the beach. (Wikipedia)
Cannon Beach is an affluent tourist destination and because of its proximity to Portland, Oregon, it is particularly known as a weekend getaway spot for Portlanders.
Again, I can't thank Gary Hamburgh (www.garyhamburgh.com) enough for allowing me to paint from his magnificent photographs.

"Soleil Sur La Mer"
For me, there is nothing more satisfying than sitting at the beach on a summer day watching the waves ebb and flow. I could just sit there for hours transfixed - it calming my every being and soul.
The sunset is an extra bonus at the end of a beautiful day.
I hope it gives you that same calming effect when you view my watercolor painting "Soleil Sur La Mer".
